2. WATCH YOUR PORTION SIZES
If you’re a client of mine – you know that I encourage you to eat mindfully and recognize in the moment while you’re eating if you’re getting full.
But sitting down for a meal and having the proper portions in front of you is a helpful tool for improving your digestion so that you don’t have to worry about if you’re eating too much or too little. You need to eat the right amounts for YOUR body, not for your appetite. Does that make sense?
Consistently over eating puts a strain on your bodies energy systems and will lead to weight gain. Often women run into this issue because they’re serving themselves as much food as their partner who weighs more then they do and has higher caloric intake needs. And if you’re a mom – be sure you’re not reaching for the kids’ snacks all the time. That’ll also cause you to over-eat during the day.
3. ADD PROBIOTIC FOODS
I could write an entire book on the health benefits of probiotics and how EVERY human should make a point of getting plenty in their diet everyday. Certain foods are known for their probiotic benefits and can really help balance the good bacteria in your gut. Probiotic-rich foods include broth, sauerkraut, kimchi, miso and yogurt. You may also add a high quality probiotic to your daily regimen like this Garden of Life Womens Probiotic
